Privacy Policy

Parlae is made by Tharaldsen Labs, LLC, a North Carolina company. This policy explains how the app handles your data. The short version: we don't collect it.

What We Collect

Nothing. Parlae has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no telemetry, and no cloud backend. We don't collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers — because we don't operate any.

Voice Data

Parlae uses your device's microphone to listen to your voice. Here's what happens with that audio:

• Speech recognition happens entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Speech framework.
• Your voice audio is never sent to Tharaldsen Labs or any third-party server for transcription.
• The resulting text is sent only to your own self-hosted OpenClaw server — a destination you configure yourself.
• We never see, store, or have access to your voice recordings or transcriptions.

Your OpenClaw Server

Parlae connects to an OpenClaw instance that you host and control. All AI processing happens on your infrastructure, not ours. We have no access to your server, your conversations, or any data flowing between your device and your server.

You are responsible for the privacy and security of your own OpenClaw instance.

Third-Party Services

Text-to-Speech

Parlae offers two TTS options:

• Apple TTS — Runs entirely on-device. No data leaves your phone.
• Microsoft Edge TTS — If you choose this option, the AI's text responses are sent to Microsoft's servers to generate speech audio. This is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Policy. No voice data or personal information beyond the response text is shared.

You choose which TTS engine to use in the app's settings.

Apple Speech Recognition

On-device speech recognition is provided by Apple's Speech framework. Parlae uses on-device recognition, meaning your audio stays on your device. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

Data Storage

Parlae stores your app settings (server address, preferences) locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

Children's Privacy

Parlae is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the revised version at parlae.ai/privacy and update the effective date.
